There are best practices that can be used to improve school leadership. By implementing these practices, school leaders can create schools that are more effective and that provide all students with the opportunity to succeed:

  • Creating a shared vision for the school: Effective school leaders are able to articulate a clear vision for their school and inspire others to work towards it. This vision should be based on the school's mission, goals, and values.

  • Developing a culture of collaboration: Effective school leaders create a culture of collaboration within their schools. This means creating an environment where teachers, staff, and students feel comfortable working together to achieve common goals.

  • Providing professional development opportunities: Effective school leaders provide professional development opportunities for their staff. This helps them to improve their teaching and leadership skills, and to stay up-to-date on the latest educational research.

  • Holding staff accountable for results: Effective school leaders hold their staff accountable for results. This means setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and taking action when necessary to improve performance.

  • Building relationships with parents and the community: Effective school leaders build strong relationships with parents and the community. This helps to create a supportive environment for learning and to ensure that the school is responsive to the needs of its community.

  • Empowering teachers and staff: Effective school leaders empower their teachers and staff to make decisions and take ownership of their work. This leads to greater motivation and engagement, which in turn leads to improved student outcomes.

KJSEA Registration Updates, 2025

     (courtesy: Gemini) KJSEA Registration, 2025 portal allows all schools to register grade 9. The Kenya National Examination Council expects school administrators to visit  KJSEA Registration Portal  and complete this exercise within the remaining period. The learners whose names appear on the Grade 9 database require the following details updated afresh:  i) Specify need in the case of  learners living with special needs.  i i ) Parent's Name  and ID number as they appear on national ID iii) Phone number of the parent whose details are provided. Details such as names and  dates of birth appear to have no provision for alteration . The current system enables teachers to download the nominal roll with ease especially when you choose google drive to view and save.
